Once there was a fire sprite and a water nymph.
They were born in the same patch of Mangrove trees by an accidental pairing of extremes that resulted in siblings of two opposing elementals. As sisters, they would share their lives; as contrary powers, they would share strife.
Seeing the potential for stress ahead, the Winds drew the sisters out towards the glowing bay one night.
As the water lapped against the burning sand, seeds of shared memories planted themselves in the beings on the beach.
Compromise exists on the shore. The sun’s heat recedes as the water’s coolness seeps into the sand. Fire and water can coexist in small, beautiful places.
